Small Families, a tour operator specialising in high quality holidays for single parents and their children, announces its summer 2006 breaks.
Taking in popular, sunny destinations such as Tunisia, Morocco and Majorca, and cleverly designed to keep both kids and parents happy and relaxed, the breaks mean school holidays never need be a chorus of “I’m bored” again.
Each tour is based on a group departure of individual families who didn’t previously know each other, escorted by a Small Families host. This means children of all ages can have friends on holiday, while single parents can relax, indulge in adult conversation and meet new people, knowing their offspring are safely occupied. All hotels chosen for the holidays are on or near a beach and offer sporting facilities, evening entertainment and professionally run children’s clubs.
Removing the organisational stresses of ‘getting away from it all’, so single parents really can put their feet up, Small Families takes care of everything. Each holidaymaker is met at the airport by the host travelling with their party or a representative of Small Families. The hosts remain with the clients throughout their stay, keeping a professional distance but available, if and when needed, to give friendly advice and make arrangements for excursions.
Allen Miller, owner of Small Families, comments: “For single parents, organising a holiday can pose daunting issues of where to go to find a welcoming and appropriate social scene for both adult and child. This is where we fill an obvious niche, providing breaks where the two generations can mingle, quite at ease, with likeminded people.”
He adds: “The Small Families concept has proved so successful that we’ve launched a new company called 'All2gether'. This company will provide travel services to small families that have 'got together' and become large families. Some of these no longer qualify for the services of Small Families but love our service and concept.”
Small Families’ prices start at £580 per adult and £470 per child for a seven day break, and include all transfers, accommodation, meals and drinks. All tours depart from London airports, using scheduled flights, and the typical holiday group size is 20-30 people.
Besides operating summer beach holidays, Small Families also offers winter skiing and snowboarding breaks in Finnish Lapland; Christmas, New Year and early December ‘Search for Santa’ breaks in the same location; as well as party weekends in Telford, where holidaymakers can reunite.
