Julian Lloyd-Webber, Elkie Brooks and Humphrey Lyttleton are among the artistes featuring in the 30th birthday celebrations for Chichester Festivities this summer (July 1-17). Started in 1975 by the Duke of Richmond to mark the 900th anniversary of the foundation of Chichester Cathedral, this year’s festivities in the historic Sussex city include more than 200 events, many of them in the cathedral.
Highlights include the Superstars Spectacular Fireworks Concert at Goodwood Racecourse (July 1), ‘Harmonic Convergence’ a musical lantern lit procession through the city (July 2) and a recital by leading soprano Dame Felicity Lott at Chichester Cathedral (July 8) as well as talks from writers, art exhibitions and theatre productions.
