Enjoy England Launches Great Ideas 2006

Enjoy England has produced its most inspirational brochure yet. Launched this week, Enjoy England Great Ideas 2006 is the must-have 'holiday bible' - an exciting, image-heavy brand piece meant to inspire those who might not have considered England before to include in their 'chocolate box' of holidays and short breaks for 2006.

With more than 1,000 ideas for places to go and things to do throughout England, throughout the year, Enjoy England Great Ideas 2006 aims to surprise, delight, seduce domestic consumers with a picture of England that they never expected.

The 84-page full colour brochure is an experiential guide to England and stylish enough to adorn the coffee table of even the most discerning holidaymaker. With so many ideas to choose from Enjoy England decided to enlist the help of two acknowledged travel experts - Gill Williams, travel editor of the Sunday Mirror, and Joanna Symons, commissioning editor for the Daily Telegraph travel section – to supply their selection of England’s finest. Here are some highlights:

Experience literary, film and tv locations, such as Alnwick Castle for the Harry Potter films and Brontë country - Haworth and the moors of West Yorkshire. Discover amazing architecture such as the new 170-metre Spinnaker Tower above Portsmouth Harbour. Explore quintessentially English market towns and idyllic villages such as Ripponden in Yorkshire (home of the Pork Pie Appreciation Society). Relax on the beach – shimmy down to Poole in Dorset and enjoy the beach huts, boutique hotels, brasseries and bars.

The tone of voice of the brochure speaks directly to the reader and the style is both fun and evocative:

‘England is like a great big Narnian wardrobe of adventures recalled, adventures to be relived, adventures yet to be had. The door is right here and you can open it any time.’

Broad sweeping landscape photography captures the extraordinary beauty of a country often overlooked by those closest to it. The radiant purples of acres of heather in Yorkshire, a misty jetty by Lake Windermere, the Japanese Garden at Tatton Park or the rampaging rock faces of Stannage Edge in the Peak District radiate in stunning images.

Enjoy England Great Ideas 2006 encourages us to be tourists in our own gardens, a vast and majestic backyard to discover.

The Quality Rose is the mark of England’s official, nationwide quality assessment scheme and covers just about every place you might want to stay, using a clear star rating system. Only quality-assessed properties are featured in the brochure to ensure the best that England has to offer is highlighted. Interesting ‘factoids’ on quality assessed accommodation and attractions can be found within, such as The Royalist Hotel in Stow-in-the-Wold, said to be the oldest inn in England and.
