The German National Tourist Office, Air Berlin and the German Embassy have joined forces to promote holidays in Germany with a poster campaign on the London Underground.
In the run-up to the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ in Germany, England Football legend Sir Geoff Hurst MBE suggests that you’ll have a ball when you visit Germany - and not just one you kick around!
The 16 sheet Posters with Sir Geoff’s image will be displayed at 100 cross-track sites and 120 escalator spots throughout the London Underground system between the 13th – 26th March - and in a second phase - between the 8th and 21st May 2006.
Sites include the main line railway stations such as Charing Cross, Victoria and Liverpool Street Station as well as busy interchanges such as Green Park, Euston and Piccadilly Circus.
Two versions of a 16 sheet poster will see Sir Geoff Hurst declaring:
“Germany. I had a ball. You will too.” and “Germany. You can’t beat it for a short break.”
On the escalators, a series of six consecutive panels will re-enforce Sir Geoff’s message:
“I might have scored three times in ’66, but for some things, you just can’t beat the Germans.” and “They thought it was all over… but it was just the start of my love affair with Germany”
The campaign, created by Tonbridge Wells agency Rodgers & Rodgers, aims to invite British visitors to see for themselves the great variety of cities and spectacular landscapes and experience Germany’s warm welcome.
