Research announced today finds that people over the age of 40 are leading the nation in adventurous pursuits, according to a survey commissioned by Princess Cruises to celebrate their 40th anniversary this year.
When asked what they would like to have done in their lifetime, respondents over the age of 40 were keen to swim with dolphins, fly in a helicopter, go whale watching, mountain trekking and scuba diving.
Showing that the UK is truly a nation of travellers, famous sights were also popular, with 45 per cent of respondents saying they wanted to see the Pyramids by the time they were 40, and 43 per cent wanting to see the Northern Lights. Visiting the Great Wall of China and riding in a Venetian gondola were also popular with the over 40s.
Passengers can see all these sights and take on any number of activities with Princess Cruises. From swimming with dolphins on a Caribbean cruise to a breathtaking helicopter ride over glaciers and fjords in Alaska, Princess offers a whole world of experiences.
Marvel at the Pyramids on a Mediterranean cruise calling in Egypt, see the Northern Lights from the deck on a Scandinavian cruise, or add an exotic landtour to the Great Wall of China to an Asian cruise. With 260 destinations worldwide, more than any other cruise line, Princess Cruises has the perfect itinerary for all tastes.
The survey also showed that cruising is the most popular choice of holiday for those over 40, with 46 per cent of respondents over 40 choosing cruising as the type of holiday they would most like to go on.
