The Cooks Islands First Roadshow in Five Years

The Cooks Islands Tourism Corporation is pleased to announce their first UK agent's roadshow in five years. The roadshow aims to increase agent awareness of the South Pacific islands and ties in with an exciting project currently being undertaken by the CITC, to rebrand the Cook Islands and formulate a superior communication strategy with both the trade and consumers.

The roadshow will visit London, Manchester and Bristol, and will be attended by Glenda Tuaine marketing manager of the Cook Islands Tourism Corporation, Angie Meddins, sales and marketing manager for Cook Islands in the UK. Key members of the Cook Islands' private sector will be able to attend at various events including; Pacific Resort Aitutaki, Pacific Resort Rarotonga, Crown Beach Resort, Island Hopper & Tipani Tours.

Agents who attend will be given an overview of the 15 islands, their accommodation and key selling points, but also details of the new website (previewed at ITB) and an upcoming Cook Islands training programme.

The CITC will also be launching the first UK travel agent fam trip to the Cook Islands, to be run in conjunction with Air New Zealand and agents will have the chance at the roadshow - through an interactive competition - to win a place on the trip to be run later this year.

Angie Meddins, Cook Islands Tourism Corporation sales & marketing manager, commented: "We have had a very good response to the roadshow, with agents proving themselves extremely keen to be trained on the Cook Islands' diverse product. And it is a particularly exciting time for the islands as the CITC is heading in a new direction that will better assist agents with fam trips and training in the future."
