The Floralies of Ghent will be taking place for the 33rd time from April 15 through April 24, 2005. The event began in 1809, following an English example, as a modest exhibition of only 50 plants. Since then it has steadily grown to become a unique exhibition on a grand scale.
The finest flowers, plants and botanical treasures, rare for their size, form, color or smell, will all be presented to the public in the halls at Flanders Expo. Come and enjoy plants and flowers from Belgian soil as well as daring creations from the world’s most celebrated ornamental artists from China, Japan, South Africa, England, Germany, Italy, France, Denmark, The Netherlands and Ireland.
Opening hours: Daily from 8 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. Admission is 17 Euro and free for children under the age of 12 if accompanied by an adult. Staged every five years only, this is an event not to be missed.
