Museums and Galleries Month is a good time to revisit some of your favourite museums and galleries or discover some new places. Museums and Galleries Month 2005 runs from 1 - 31 May. During May over 1,200 museums and galleries around the country hold special events, workshops and exhibitions.
With over 1,000 special events during Museums and Galleries Month 2005 there is plenty to choose from and something for all ages and interests. Many events continue through to the May Bank Holiday weekend (28-29th May) and the half-term break.
Exhibitions and events in May link in to the twin Museums and Galleries month themes of Objects of Desire and SeaBritain 2005, including Plymouth City Museum & Art Gallery where an ancient sea display including the fossils of sea dwelling creatures from millions of years ago links to the briny theme for 2005.
