Cumberland sausage, Windermere dream cake and Grasmere gingerbread will all be on offer at the North-West Food Lovers Festival at Westmorland in Cumbria (June 18-19).

Also in the North-West of England, the photography of Terry O’Neill will be celebrated at the city of Liverpool’s Walker gallery (May 21-Sept 11). ‘Celebrity’, shown for the first time outside London, consists of 43 portraits of famous faces including The Beatles and Rolling Stones, Bridget Bardot and Fred Astaire.
