Rock The Beach competition

Rock The Beach competitionBands who missed out on the Rock the Beach competition in 2005 can register to enter to make it to the finals and compete for a week's recording time in a top London studio. Contiki is also hosting a London launch event on January 20th where the 2005 finalists are performing to raise the event's profile and encourage new bands to enter.

Following the success of the 2005 Rock the Beach event the sponsors Contiki Holidays and InLondon are again hosting three heats in London and extending the final Rock the Beach event to a weekend beach festival held in Mykonos, Greece, on Sept 1st & 2nd.

Contiki marketing manager Sarah Brooks says “Rock the Beach was so successful last year with the quality of the bands far exceeding expectations so this year’s event will be a larger two-day beach music festival with the competition finalists playing alongside other popular bands & DJs.

“We will be announcing the line-up in Spring 2006 but the Launch Party on January 20th will be a good night to get a taste of the Rock the Beach festival.”

The launch party in January will see this year’s pop rock winners Jaggered headline with support from other 2005 finalists The Duckworths, Deathstar Preview and The Crane Brothers.

The Rock the Beach launch party is a free–entry event and will kick off at 8pm at Walkabout bar, Shepherd’s Bush.

Winners and runners’ up of the three London heats, to be held in July & August at Shepherds Bush Walkabout, will spend a week at the superb Contiki Resort Mykonos, with return Gatwick flights, transfers, brunch and dinner and free water and land based activities for all band members.

Entries are open to all bands based in the UK – check out www.rockonthebeach.co.uk and send a demo for entry.
