South West England Food and Drink Expo

Food and Drink ExpoFood and drink producers in the region now have the opportunity to get in front of thousands of buyers, catapulting their products into the international spotlight. There are still spaces available to exhibit within the South West England pavilion at Food and Drink Expo, the UK's premier food event, which last year created over 2,000 business leads, bringing £2 million of additional turnover and 40 new jobs to the South West.

South West businesses can benefit from exhibiting within the high profile South West England pavilion organised by South West Food & Drink, the trade organisation dedicated to the development of the food and drink industry in the South West.

The South West England pavilion provides a great opportunity to do business and will feature companies from across the region, showcasing the innovative new products and developments taking place in the South West. The pavilion will also feature a dedicated hospitality area serving South West food and drink, enabling key trade buyers and exhibitors to maximise the opportunities to do business. It also includes a special Taste of the West showcase stand giving smaller companies and first-time exhibitors the chance to take part in this important trade event.

In 2004 this biennial show attracted some 22,000 UK and international trade buyers, from small convenience stores to supermarket chains and hotel groups, all on the look out for new products. Food and Drink Expo will be taking place 19-22 March 2006 at the NEC Birmingham and is a valuable opportunity for anyone in the region looking to grow their food or drink business.

Richard Hunter, Managing Director of South West Food & Drink, said: “There are around 3,000 food and drink producers in the region, from individuals owning and managing a business to huge international corporations. We are committed to ensuring that all of these businesses are able to benefit from what is an exciting time for regionally produced food and drink.

“Whether they are looking to launch a new product, promote established brands or make new contacts, Food and Drink Expo is a valuable opportunity for businesses to get ahead. Coming in under the South West England brand gives companies additional profile, ensuring they successfully make an impact in what is a very competitive market. We will also be providing the necessary support to ensure they really maximise the opportunities available from marketing to logistics at every stage of the process in the run up to and at the exhibition.”

John Sheaves, Chief Executive of Taste of the West, said: “I am delighted that Taste of the West will be part of the South West England Pavilion. We are excited by the new, innovative approach being developed by Taste of the West this year giving producers from all over the South West the opportunity to be marketed to the trade via the new Taste of the West range.”

Edward Kain, exhibitor at Food and Drink Expo and director of Bramley and Gage, Devon, makers of fresh fruit liqueurs said:” We have found that taking part in trade shows is the best way to reach potential new customers and a good way to expand our business. Each time we have exhibited at Food and Drink Expo we have signed up new customers from all over the UK that we would never have been able to meet otherwise.”
