The Vienna Jazz Festival from June 28 through July 29, 2005 boasts a tremendous line-up of jazz greats at the city’s finest venues including the State Opera, Museumsquartier and the open-air Arkadenhof of Vienna’s City Hall.
The Vienna Jazz Festival is one of the leading festivals of its kind, boasting an exciting program of classic jazz, soul and pop. Among the Austrian and international notables appearing in dozens of concerts are Elvis Costello & The Imposters and Diana Ross & Band (Vienna State Opera, July 3 and 5, respectively), young star Jamie Cullum who has been dubbed the “Robbie Williams of jazz” (July 10, Arkadenhof, City Hall) and Chick Corea & Bobby McFerrin (Austria Center Vienna, July 29).
Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. The festival opens on June 28 with a free-admission concert by Terry Callier & Band and Trio Exklusiv in the courtyard of the Museumsquartier, starting at 5 p.m.
