It's the Cocktails Talking

cocktail liqueursA staggering two thirds of the British population will make a judgement about their date based on what they choose at the bar, reveals a new survey by De Kuyper cocktail liqueurs released today.

And that's not all; the majority of these people (62%) are also prepared to raise a glass of something they wouldn't normally drink simply to impress!

Cocktails (38%) and a glass of fine wine (39%) come out top as the drinks to be seen with but choose your cocktail carefully as relationship psychologist, Mo Shapiro advises that this can also speak volumes.

Mo Shapiro says: "It's not only your clothes or hairstyle that give out clues about what kind of person you are. Your choice of drink is also a comment about your personality.

"People will pick cocktails because they suggest sophistication, a multifaceted life and refined, expensive tastes. Their choice of cocktail is also a reflection of what they are like. For example, daredevil names suggest a daredevil personality."

Kevan Stralow, cocktail expert from the bar service company, Bamboo advises: "There is a definite return to the kitsch 'tiki' cocktails popular in the 40's and 50's which will appeal to the more adventurous drinker out there. Ranging from frothy to foamy and sometimes even on fire, concoctions like these have been become fashionable again thanks to places like Notting Hill's bar of the year, Trailer Happiness. Admittedly these aren't for the faint hearted (some are limited to two per person per night) so tried and tested options such as the Mojito, Cosmopolitan and the Bellini remain hugely popular with the general drinking public. "
