The True Roastmaster's Selection

An artisan coffee roaster has launched a mailing service for consumers to effortlessly receive, enjoy and learn more about a wide range of selected gourmet single estate varietals every month for one year.

The Roastmaster’s Selection is offered by the experts at Union Coffee Roasters where Jeremy Torz and Steven Macatonia, hand-craft the roast of their exceptional gourmet Arabica coffees. Subscribers to the service receive a different, freshly roasted coffee sent to their homes or workplace each month – making it an ideal Christmas gift for friends or family.

Jeremy and Steven came up with the idea because their friends kept asking “what’s the best coffee?” They realised that, similarly to wine, there are so many different coffees available and people want guidance on what to taste.

Roastmaster Steven Macatonia said: “Having worked with coffee for over 10 years we have “cupped” thousands of beans from all over the world – and we continue to investigate new coffees all the time. We have distilled this experience down not only into our retail range but also into the larger selection of specialist gourmet coffees we offer exclusively via our website and mail order.”

Steven adds: “Through the Roastmaster’s Selection we hope that by providing coffees that consumers would not usually be able to pick up off the shelf they will become more knowledgeable as I am providing tasting notes and information about the farm where the coffee is grown. We think people will become more confident when selecting a coffee to suit an occasion, time of day or food – very much like enthusiasm for wine has developed”.

The coffees are ethically sourced by Jeremy and Steven direct from the farmers. The offer includes two packs (227g) of each coffee either whole-bean or ground, plus information about the origins of the Arabica beans and the people who grow them. Suggested ways to use the coffee and why the coffee is perfect for that particular month will also be provided. These descriptor sheets can be collected in a binder that customers will receive with their first order.

Consumers can find our about the service, which costs £10.00 inc p&p, per month or £120 annually by calling Jeremy or Steven on 0207 474 8990.
