Sauces of Choice, an award-winning Somerset food producer that specialises in making hand made sauces and dressings has created a range of naturally sweet chutneys which, as well as being healthy and suitable for special dietary needs, meets the approval of lovers of fine food.
Christine Owen, founder and inspiration behind each of the sauces, dressings and chutneys made by Sauces of Choice comments, “We have found that, since we started the business in 2002, there has been more and more demand for ‘free from’ foods and we have been constantly working on recipes which take account of a whole range of intolerances, allergies and dietary needs. We are particularly pleased that although we substitute many ingredients we have still won top awards in tasting competitions against ‘normal’ foods.”
Sauces of Choice chutneys are suitable for diabetics and low in fat (less than 0.3/100grams) and include flavours such as Caramelised Onion, Apricot & Orange and Tomato & Red Pepper. The company’s Spicy Fruit Chutney, with concentrated grape juice, onion, mango, apricot, red and green peppers, lemon juice, dates, raisins, tomato, red chilli and spices has a particularly rich flavour and is perfect with a strong cheddar.
Other products created by Sauces of Choice include a delicious range of guilt free dressings, such as Garlic and Herb, Caesar and Coronation, all of which are wheat free and low in carbohydrate. Soya and vegetables are used to thicken instead of wheat flour and dairy products and natural fruit juices are used to sweeten rather than sugar. The range is also low in salt.
