Discerning drinkers around the UK and Ireland invited to enrol on the most talked about
University module - Vodkaology!
New Zealand’s award winning vodka, 42 BELOW, is going on round two of its consumer crash course in Vodkaology with Vodka U at Harvey Nichols this April 2006.
“In a style conscious age dominated by fashion and lifestyle brands, consumers are still going to the hippest UK and Irish style bars and ordering a ‘vodka tonic’. Vodka U at Harvey Nichols is an entertaining way to educate discerning drinkers on choosing a vodka brand at the bar,” says Geoff Ross, founder of 42 BELOW.
Geoff Ross, former Saatchi & Saatchi adman and creative genius behind the maverick vodka brand, will be flying in from New Zealand to host the sessions, headlined by 26 year old vodka encyclopaedia and New Zealand bartender, Jacob Briars.
The Vodka U at Harvey Nichols training covers a fascinating chronology of vodkas from 12th century to present day – how vodka became the spirits of kings, why it was used as aftershave and body rub, who produced the first vodka - Poland or Russia - how the Moscow Mule was the first vodka cocktail to arrive in America in 1939 and what exactly are the differences between premium and super premium vodkas.
Students are taken through a tasting of up to 15 premium and super premium vodkas, from Norway to New Zealand, including Stolichnaya, Wyborowa, Absolut, Finlandia, Belvedere, Ketel One, Grey Goose and 42 BELOW, covering the different styles of potato, wheat, barley, rye, grape vodkas.
Added to this, everyone that attends one of the Vodka U sessions will be entered into our special prize draw to win two pairs of return Premium Economy Class flights to New Zealand, the home of 42 Below vodka and courtesy of Air New Zealand.
