Pembrokeshire in South West Wales has several claims to fame. It boasts Britain's only coastal national park and a growing reputation for fine cuisine. A culinary highlight of the county calendar is Pembrokeshire Fish Week (June 23 – July 1) which celebrates the county's fishing tradition, beautiful coastline and clean seas with more than a hundred events, from Italian fish cookery to paella nights, rock pool rambles, and river cruises.
Chris Tanner, one of Britain's most exciting young chefs and a rising television star, is hosting a fish and shellfish masterclass (June 27). Other chefs will be hosting demonstrations, tastings and classes during the festival. Other highlights include a sea angling competition at Fishguard with a £750 top prize; a charity fisherman's dinner and a family fun day at Fishguard, together with established fun days at Milford Haven, traditional home of the county's fishing industry, and picturesque Tenby.
