Wine Lovers In For A Treat As Booths Plan Two-Week Wine Fair Extravaganza

Booths has announced plans to hold a special two-week Wine Fair in its *stores throughout Cumbria, Lancashire, Yorkshire and Cheshire from Saturday 30th September to Sunday 15th October.

Booths Wine Fair is an opportunity for wine lovers to learn more about the world of wine and has something for everyone, from the novice wine enthusiast, to the Master of Wine. The fair will include more than 30 unusual and speciality wines from a wide variety of countries, bought in solely for the two-week event.

Twelve magnums of the world’s most expensive wine, Château d’Yquem 1er Cru Supérieur Classé Sauternes**, have also been purchased for a special tasting on 5th October.

Many of the wines cannot to be found in any British supermarket and are part of the retailer’s drive to encourage greater appreciation of the lesser-known gems of the wine world - something for which Booths is renowned.

The Wine Fair was inspired by the French Foire aux Vins which take place across France every year, attracting thousands of people eager to sample and stock up on different wines, and learn more about their national drink.

The wines have been chosen by Booths wine buyer Sally Holloway and will only be available during the Wine Fair. They range in price from £4.99 to £50. Customers will get the opportunity to taste most of the wines at a special tasting event to be held in selected stores on Thursday 5th October.
As part of the Wine Fair, there will also be tastings in 18 stores* on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. In addition customers will enjoy 20% off selected wines on Saturdays and Sundays.

Winebuyer Sally Holloway says: “This is the first time we have organised a two week wine fair and something which is particular to Booths. It’s an ideal opportunity for us to showcase not only our existing range of wines, but for people to try something a bit different. Many of the wines can be kept for years and so are ideal for those planning a special event, or who just want to lay down some good wines to drink in the future.”
