This Christmas, The Grove – London’s multi-award winning country estate – will be transformed into a 300 acre grotto of festive fun with a programme of entertainment to excite and inspire all ages.
Giant gold crackers, snow covered pines, mulled wine and chestnuts, a crackling log fire, homemade mince pies, turkey with all the trimmings, carol singers and enticingly wrapped presents just waiting to be opened. The Grove will be offering all the charm and tradition of the season - injected with a contemporary twist, surrounded by magical woods and award-winning gardens, just 18 miles from central London.
Celebrations kick off on Christmas Eve in true ‘Groovy Grove’ style with time for the grown ups to do some last minute present wrapping or simply relax, while younger guests are invited to join Father Christmas and his elves in their Workshop, making presents and dressing up in Christmas costumes. Older children may prefer to head to the games room with its table tennis and classic arcade machines, and those who are too young to help Santa can retire to the OFSTED-inspected kids’ club, Anouska’s, for some festive fun. An evening of champagne, canapés and mince pies will round off the day in true sparkling style.
On Christmas morning, stuffed stockings will be hanging on the doors of all Santa’s little helpers. After breakfast, guests are invited to head over to Santa's grotto, where Santa himself will hand out presents to his junior workforce. Christmas Lunch is served with all the trimmings and a troupe of circus entertainers will rove the dining room to keep both the young and the old amused.
Whether it be a round of golf on The Grove’s championship golf course, a treatment in Sequoia (the award-winning spa), a walk in the formal gardens or a twist of popcorn over a movie in the screening room, there is plenty to do at The Grove on Christmas afternoon. Or you could do nothing.
A light buffet supper is served in the evening but for those feeling peckish, The Grove’s larder is stacked full and open for guests to raid throughout the afternoon.
On Boxing Day the elves wave goodbye at a grand finale magic show with tricks and illusions to amaze all ages. In the afternoon there is an organized bicycle trail, a golf putting competition and more mince pies and mulled wine in the Library for those who prefer to sit back and relax.
