This Valentine's Day, bewitch your loved one with an aphrodisiac cocktail infused with ancient romantic powers. The True Love Potion cocktail has been designed to celebrate the spirit of the ancient alchemist of New Hall, the oldest moated manor house in England, to guarantee couples an extra special Valentine's Day!
New Hall is now a luxury manor house hotel in the West Midlands, but in the 16th century was the home of an alchemist, one of the Sacheverell family, who used a secret oak panelled room to mix potions. When the building was turned into a hotel in 1988, the room was discovered and is now used as a private dining room.
The True Love Potion contains Strega®, an ancient herbal liqueur that is well known to have magical aphrodisiac qualities. Even today only two people know the secret recipe of Strega®, which has been passed down through generations after originally being stolen from a group of Benevento monks.
New Hall’s expert bartenders have designed the True Love Potion exclusively for the bar at New Hall for the enjoyment of both guests and visitors to the bar. Sip your cocktail in the cosy surroundings of the Terrace Room with its plump sofas, flickering log fire and old 33 crackling out classic tunes.
After a romantic dinner at one of New Hall’s two restaurants, couples can retire upstairs to one of the traditionally styled rooms where sumptuous four-poster beds await. Small touches such as the nightcap on the bedside table; the cosseting bed and the right kind of pillow give guests the feeling of being truly looked after. The 900 year old estate, set in 26 acres of forest and parkland, is the perfect retreat for a Valentine’s weekend.
The Valentine’s package at New Hall starts from £176 per person sharing, including two nights bed and breakfast accommodation, dinner for two at the critically acclaimed Bridge or Terrace restaurants and a True Love Potion each to get your weekend off to a romantic start!
