Adventures in ‘Wilderness Scotland’

A Scottish adventure tour operator is offering a new coast-to-coast mountain bike route and a family adventure holiday designed for adventurous parents. It also runs occasional sailing trips to the remote island of St. Kilda in the Atlantic – a World Heritage Site.

Wilderness Scotland follows strict environmental and social policies as it guides visitors into beautiful but ecologically sensitive landscapes. Its bike trip follows off-road tracks through the mountains, venturing into wilderness areas between Aberdeen in the east and Ardnamurchan, the most westerly point: “the ultimate journey” in the words of a cycling journalist.

The family-orientated trips are tailored to each group’s sense of adventure, incorporating activities such as whale-watching, canoeing, sea-kayaking and overnight trips to a castle or uninhabited island. Using experienced guides, they provide a special way of bringing the family together. Sailing and wilderness walking trips, carefully graded, are also on the company’s busy programme.
