A new version of a 'go-anywhere' rail ticket is now available world-wide for the first time. The BritRail England Pass – for visitors to Britain who are not going to Wales, Scotland or Ireland but want to make use of the extensive rail system in England – offers a good-value way of getting around.
BritRail has also introduced an on-line booking system, so all its passes can be ordered or a brochure downloaded using the Internet. Britain’s rail system features 19,000 trains daily, which serve 2,500 stations – and it is not necessary to make detailed travel plans in advance. Prices for the BritRail England passes start at US$169/ Aus $ 235 for four days; or 69 Euros for two days. All the passes are available to foreign visitors only – British residents cannot apply.
