Adventure travellers looking to visit somewhere off the beaten track this year should consider a new tour to the ancient land of Iran.
Flight Centre is offering a 15-day Iran adventure tour that takes travellers behind this fascinating country for a peek into its rich Islamic architecture and history, varied ethnic groups and culture, stunning mountain and desert scenery and incredible ancient city’s such as Esfahan, once ‘pearl in the Persian Crown’.
The tour allows travellers to get to the grassroots of the country by staying in a traditional yurt with the nomads of the harsh Iranian plateau, sampling nomad life by herding their animals, tending the fields and cooking, plus trekking through the Alborz Mountains and shopping in the most exciting bazaars in the country in Kashan.
Starting and finishing in the capital Tehran the first tour date is from 2 September until 16 September. The price is from £478 per person for the land based tour only and includes 14-nights accommodation, some breakfast and dinners, transport within Iran and services of a tour leader. Maximum group size is 12.
Flights to Tehran are available from £420 per person from Heathrow to Tehran with Alitalia via Milan for travel in September.
