See the 'Real Thing' on a Mexican Adventure

A visit to some of the small villages in Southern Mexico such as Chamula, close to San Cristobel, will reveal communities that believe that coca cola has spiritual powers and that by drinking it and burping they expel evil spirits from their body.

These villages are great places for admiring the traditional costumes of the region as well as the fabulous colonial architecture that is dotted throughout this area. There are also plenty of examples of ancient Mayan architecture in this part of Mexico such as the ruins of Chichen Itza, with its temples and pyramids, and Palenque, set within a stunning rainforest.

Flight Centre is offering a two-week ‘Road to Cancun’ tour that explores this region starting in the colonial town of Antigua in Guatemala and ending in the modern Mexican resort of Cancun.

Highlights include visiting the ancient ruins, shopping in the mountain village of Chichicastenango, relaxing on the shores of the impressive Lake Atitlan, trekking in rainforests and sunbathing on the Caribbean beaches of Cancun.

Flight Centre is offering this two-week tour from £485 per person for the land-based tour including accommodation, transport and services of a tour leader. International flights are not included and can be arranged from £520 with USAir from Gatwick into Guatemala City and out of Cancun.
