MSC Cruises, Italy's largest privately owned cruise line and part of the second largest shipping group in the world has launched their Summer 2006 brochure.
This programme is the biggest so far offering a capacity of 14.540 berths. It features the newest and largest addition to the fleet MSC Musica , sailing her inaugural cruise on 01 July 2006 from Venice with prices starting from £730* per person based on 2 adults in a category 1 cabin.
There are a range of exciting new itineraries and features. Due to the growing demand, capacity for Northern Europe has been doubled with both MSC Lirica and MSC Rhapsody offering a range of
7-night cruises to the Fjords and the Baltics. For the first time MSC Rhapsody will be calling into four British ports sailing from Amsterdam, with prices starting from £672*. Another development sees MSC Monterey based in Spain offering a series of 7-night cruises from popular Barcelona.
New features for 2006 include a 30% booking bonus reduction on cruises valid throughout the season, subject to availability. Added value continues with the increase in the age of children that cruise for free. All children under 18 years of age cruise for free across the entire summer programme, paying only the flight cost.
MSC Cruises are offering a total of 23 different itineraries on board eight cruise ships including the new flagship MSC Musica. This will increase the number of berths available on MSC ships by 22% taking the total capacity across the entire MSC fleet from 8,936 berths per night to 14,540. MSC Cruises is aiming at providing enthusiasts and first timers with a unique opportunity to enjoy Mediterranean and Northern European cruises at very competitive prices.
Peter Pate, MSC’s Director for the UK and Ireland commented , “This has to be one of our most exciting summer seasons. We have moved to new premises, our team is greatly strengthened both on reservations, administration and on the road. Our capacity is the biggest to date. It reflects the outstanding growth we have experienced as a result of our huge ship building investment programme. Our new brochure has been designed to emphasise that our cruises are quintessentially Italian in style and atmosphere. The design of all our ships also reflects MSC’s Italian heritage, this is one of our unique selling points.”
MSC Cruises has a current fleet of seven ships: MSC Sinfonia, MSC Opera, MSC Armonia, MSC Lirica, MSC Melody, MSC Rhapsody, MSC Monterey and offers itineraries in the Mediterranean all year round, in Northern Europe, Transatlantic, the Caribbean, South America and South Africa.
