New Scottish golf tournament for alumni

An exciting new tournament is planned for next year, to take place just days before the British Open in Scotland, allowing the best alumni from North America to participate in their own major championship.

The Alumni Cup will be the first event of its kind, whereby alumni golfers will compete for their old university in their own golf tournament.

Then event, taking place from July 17 – 20, 2006, will be played over 72 holes across four days on the historic links courses of Panmure, Monifieth, Ladybank and Carnoustie. It is at Carnoustie where legendary American golfer Ben Hogan recorded his Open Championship victory. The package will also offer competitors the opportunity to see the British Open at Royal Liverpool on July 20 – 23 immediately following The Alumni Cup.

Teams of four players can register and sign up for this exclusive package to represent their old university. Information and bookings can be made online.
