Golfers' guide to Northwest England

A free guide to England’s Northwest, produced in time for the Open Golf Championship at Hoylake in July, includes details of 19 classic courses to play on England’s Golf Coast as it has become known. Three royal courses and 16 other top courses, set among sand dunes and pine trees along 150 miles of coastline, have given the area a high profile among golfers. One of them, Royal Birkdale, will play host to the Open Championship for an historic ninth time in July 2008. Nearby Liverpool will be European Capital of Culture throughout 2008.

Copies of the 54-page “The Open Championship Visitors Guide to Wirral and England’s Northwest,” published by the Northwest Regional Development Agency, are available by calling 0845 600 60 40 or through the website: www.visitenglandsnorthwest.com
