On-line accommodation supplier, OctopusTravel.com continues to expand its business into international markets with the opening of four franchises this month (June) in Turkey, Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia.
The company has embarked on an ambitious global expansion strategy with plans to open 29 franchises around the world by the end of this year.
“Franchises are an effective means of expanding our product into new markets. We develop strategic partnerships with established and highly reputable local travel businesses – an arrangement that benefits both parties,” said International managing director, Daniela Wagner.
“Using local expertise and knowledge we can quickly become established in new countries without the time and set up costs associated with opening our own offices and employing our own staff. Our franchise partners benefit from being the first travel business in their country to sell OctopusTravel with our enviable inventory and rates on 20,000 hotels and 3,300 apartments and villas,” Wagner added.
OctopusTravel has rapidly expanded in the last two years with the number of overseas offices nearly tripling and turnover increasing by 198%. In recognition of this success, Ms. Wagner was recently presented with the E-Tid Personal Achievement Award for excellence in online travel distribution.
Most recently, OctopusTravel was listed as the second fastest growing business in the UK by Real Business magazine according to their Hot 100 list of businesses. Additionally, it was listed fourth in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 league table of Britain's top performing private companies.
OctopusTravel has partnerships with over 70 airlines around the world including South African Airways, Sri Lankan Airlines, Sky Europe, Thomsonfly, Air Arabia and Japan Airlines. The company also works with other prestigious non-travel Partners such as Air Miles, American Express, Nectar and Wanadoo.
