Orient-Express - The Dinner

Orient Express The DinnerThis year the vintage British Pullman carriages of the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express will once again be the setting for one of London's most exclusive dining experiences - Orient-Express 'The Dinner'.

In 2006, due to the popularity of these glamorous evening trips, ‘The Dinner’ is to become a regular feature within the British Pullman schedule with monthly departures from April through to November (except August).

The historic cream and umber carriages provide the perfect backdrop to elegantly transport guests through the English countryside whilst enjoying champagne cocktails and fine dining. Prepared by expert chefs from the finest ingredients, a variety of dishes are combined to create a sumptuous seasonal gourmet tasting menu. Each of the five courses is perfectly complemented by the sommelier’s choice of wines.

The usual restaurant car format is reconfigured for these special trips to offer a number of lounge cars along side the restaurant cars, allowing guests to mingle and enjoy a social drink before and after dinner. A smooth jazz quartet provides the music and adds to the party atmosphere.

Orient-Express ‘The Dinner’ will depart from Platform 2, London Victoria at 1930 and return at 2245 on the following dates: 6 April, 6 May, 8 June, 6 July, 7 September, 12 October and 16 November 2006. It costs £275 per person which includes all food and specially selected wines, a glass of champagne and a liqueur. Black tie is recommended.
